Independence Evo Cross – The Square of Safety
The Independence Evo Cross represents the next generation of rescue technology. By moving from a traditional round shape to a Cruciform (Square) design, Independence has solved the two biggest issues in emergency deployments: slow opening times and pendular oscillation (swinging).
Performance Beyond Standards
- Fastest Opening Times: Thanks to its low canopy height and efficient air-filling design, the Evo Cross opens up to 40% faster than the EN 12491 standard requires.
- Zero Oscillation: The square geometry and corner pressure vents provide unmatched pendular stability. Unlike round reserves, the Evo Cross stays vertically stable, preventing the "pendulum effect" during descent.
- High Visibility: The signal orange fabric is specifically chosen for high contrast against snow, forests, and rocks, making recovery and rescue easier in remote areas.
- Lightweight Reliability: Uses high-tensile, lightweight materials to keep pack volume low without sacrificing the durability needed for a 10-12 year lifespan.

Sky Riders Recommendation: If you are flying in the turbulent air of the South West coast or taking your first steps into cross-country, the Evo Cross is our top recommendation for "active safety." It’s the reserve we trust for our own instructors.
