Mastering the Parakite: The Future of High-Wind Flight

What is a Parakite?

A Parakite (such as the revolutionary Flare Moustache or Little Cloud La Mouette) represents a hybrid evolution between a paraglider and a kite. Unlike traditional wings, parakites utilize a sophisticated reflex profile combined with a dedicated depower system. This allows the pilot to adjust the lift and speed of the wing dynamically through the toggles, rather than relying solely on a speed bar.

How Do They Work?

The core technology lies in the kinetics of the riser system. By changing your hand position, you directly alter the wing's angle of attack and internal pressure. This "depower" capability means you can kill the lift instantly when needed, making them exceptionally stable in turbulent conditions or high-wind soaring environments.

Why Fly a Parakite?

  • ✓ Extended Wind Range: Safely soar in conditions where standard paragliders would remain grounded.
  • ✓ Precise Proximity: Unmatched pitch control for ridge soaring and contour flying.
  • ✓ What Flying Is About: These wings are just so much fun to fly!
