Gin Calypso 2: Your Passport to New Frontiers

The Gin Calypso 2 is a dedicated lightweight "low B" paraglider engineered for pilots who value stress-free flying and portability. Designed from the ground up for leisure, travel, and hike-and-fly, it offers a level of stability and ease that inspires confidence in even the most challenging conditions. With its refined 47-cell internal structure and modern materials, the Calypso 2 is the ideal partner for those stepping up from school or regular pilots looking for a playful, lightweight adventure wing.

Evolved Rigifoil & Effortless Starts

One of the standout upgrades in the Calypso 2 is the evolved Rigifoil system. By incorporating small half-ribs with Nitinol rods and short tensioning strings at the leading edge, the wing maintains a precise profile at any angle of attack. This results in what Gin describes as one of the easiest take-offs in their entire range—the wing rises smoothly and settles overhead with minimal pilot input, making tight mountain launches feel like school hills.

Agile Handling with Massive Safety

Despite its high level of passive safety, the Calypso 2 remains a joy to pilot. It offers precise and progressive brake pressure that provides clear, coherent feedback about the airmass. Its 5.05 flat aspect ratio strikes the perfect balance between stable, damped flight and the agility needed to core tight thermals. In turbulence, the wing stays remarkably homogenous, acting as a "safety net" for the pilot while they focus on navigation and the view.

Compact Packing & Lightweight Build

The Calypso 2 is a true lightweight design, with the XXS size weighing just 3.22kg. The use of Nitinol rods allows for a very compact fold without the risk of kinking, making it easy to fit into a reversible harness or a small hike-and-fly rucksack. For those looking to shave every gram, an optional Dyneema riser system is available, saving an additional 200g over the standard risers.

Extended Weight Range Versatility

To accommodate different flying styles, sizes S, M, and L are certified with an Extended Weight Range. When flown in the middle of the normal range, the wing is exceptionally calm and efficient for thermalling. Loading it into the extended range (up to 120kg on the L size) increases speed and dynamic handling—perfect for carrying extra camping gear on a vol-bivouac trip or enjoying high-wind soaring.
