Description
Gin Explorer 2: A Touch of Magic
The Gin Explorer 2 is a lightweight sports XC paraglider that embodies the pure joy of flight. Positioned in the "high-B" category, it is engineered for pilots who want to reconnect with the direct experience of flying—no struggling with the wing, just pure focus on the terrain and the sky. By combining a 59-cell structure with a high 6.07 aspect ratio, Gin has created a glider that offers a sophisticated feel with class-leading passive safety.
"To the Top" Climbing Ability
Perhaps the most notable characteristic of the Explorer 2 is its superior climbing experience. The wing bites enthusiastically into thermals yet settles quickly overhead, allowing you to center the core with minimal effort. The brake pressures are light but progressive, providing the refined feedback needed to maximize even the weakest lift. Thanks to a strategic increase in surface area compared to its predecessor, the wing offers improved float and efficiency across the entire weight range.
Unflappable Stability & Handling
The Explorer 2 is designed to be "well-behaved" even when conditions get rowdy. It features exemplary pitch stability, which translates to easy, progressive take-offs and a high resistance to collapses in turbulent air. This "unflappable" character allows XC pilots to stay relaxed during long flights, saving mental energy for navigation and tactical decisions.
Improved Speed System & Smart Risers
For efficient gliding, the Explorer 2 features a Smart Riser system. Equipped with a dedicated control toggle and high-quality Harken pulleys, it allows for smooth "C-riser steering," giving you precise control over pitch and direction while on speed bar. Additionally, the speed bar travel has been increased by 2cm, providing a higher top speed to help you push through valley winds on ambitious XC routes.
Nitinol Technology & Compact Packing
Weight and volume are critical for vol-biv and hike-and-fly. The Explorer 2 utilizes Nitinol (Nickel-Titanium) rods in the leading edge. This ensures dimensional stability and a clean top surface while allowing for ultra-compact packing without the risk of kinking or heat deformation. Weighing in at just 3.7kg (Size S), it is a powerhouse that fits easily into a light rucksack.
